Award Details
The H2 Refuel Accelerator is being produced by Fraunhofer TechBridge, Greentown Labs, and the Urban Future Lab. These entities offer startups world class access to the technical, commercialization and business resources they need to thrive. Participants selected for this program will be eligible for all the below awards, both the ‘core’ awards and the perks provided by each program partner.
Core Accelerator Prizes
Up to $50,000 in startup technology validation, demonstration and piloting services from the Fraunhofer R&D network.
Desk space at one or both of the partnered incubators located in NYC and Boston
80+ hours of training and mentorship from the region’s top business and industry experts
Access to mentors and connections from Shell and Toyota’s networks
The opportunity to build close relationships with Shell and Toyota which may, upon program conclusion, result in an investment, joint development agreement, technical project, pilot and/or additional partnership format(s).
Fraunhofer TechBridge
Awardees selected for a Fraunhofer Validation Project will receive technical and validation services from the world renowned Fraunhofer R&D network, with the express goal of de-risking novel technologies for Shell and Toyota as potential partners. Applicants appropriate for this offering will be developing a product or service that could benefit from targeted technical acceleration. These projects bring promising technologies closer to market and make them more attractive for private sector investment, industry adoption and scale-up funding, ultimately leading to the accelerated success of high growth entrepreneurs and businesses.
A number of different types of services up to $50,000 in value may be rendered during a project, including: modeling, testing, prototyping, and demonstration.
Greentown Labs
Greentown Labs, the largest cleantech incubator in the United States, is currently home to more than 90 startups that collectively employ more than 1,000 people. Together, this passionate community of entrepreneurs is working to solve the world’s biggest energy and environmental challenges. Greentown Labs boasts an 88% success rate and its community has collectively raised more than $380 million—including 4 exits. Greentown Labs offers 100,000 sq. ft. of prototyping lab and office space, a 1,800 sq. ft wet lab, a shared machine shop, an electronics lab and a curated suite of programs, resources, and tools. With our robust partner network, members gain access to more than $250K in resources, including software tools, machinery, electronics equipment, legal services, manufacturing expertise, relevant investors and neighborhood perks.
Urban Future Lab
Urban Future Lab provides unmatched access to strategic advisement, introductions to industry stakeholders, marketing and branding support, investor networks, and access to a community of like-minded founders. Our services and resources include:
